I got some pretty disappointing news yesterday, and spent the better half of the morning sulking. I kept the pity party going pretty strong for a while because I'm really good at that. I take after my grandma in that respect; a woman who used to say something that translates roughly to the equivalent of "once I stick my lower lip out, I won't suck it back in for a while." But then my mama brought me some cherries (my favorite) to make me feel better, and a few hours later my papa brought me some Russian pickled tomatoes (my other favorite) to help as well. God bless them, they know the way to my heart is through my stomach. And they're willing to take a break from work in the middle of the day to go out and make their way there. I want to be just like them when I grow up.

Sorry to hear about the bad news. I do hope that things will work out for you in whatever issue this concerned. I gotta tell you I loved reading what you wrote about your parents, it made me smile. And it sounds like they're awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is lovely, I especially love the cut of that sweater.

I've had my heart set on a skirt like this since I ruined one I got in a thrift store. Sorry you were feeling crummy, but I'm glad your family was there to make it better. Sometimes just having someone there to care can make a big difference.
ReplyDeleteFun skirt! That's my favorite piece here. Look good girl!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way, Skippy!!! Homemade pizza always cheers me up! :)

Aww sorry about your crummy day :( I always cheer up with food too - chinese food and chocolate help me feel better!
ReplyDeleteReason #10,132 why you're my blogging soulmate: the way to your heart is through your stomach. Methinks we would get deliciously chubby together with a tasty mixture of mashed potatoes and... more mashed potatoes.
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. Once I'm in a bad mood, I just decide I'm in a bad mood and sulk and act a little cranky, and then the next day I'm over it instead of still trying to pretend everything is fine.
Thanks for the comment on my blog! And can I just say that I LOVE your fashion posts! And I love your shoes in this post! :)
ReplyDeleteLove these colors together! They always say time heals all wounds, but I think food works just as well ... you're lucky to have parents who know that! :)
ReplyDeleteThis look is so cute! I love the blue touches on your shoes!

When I was younger, I was told that you should never wear blue and green together, but you definitely proved that "rule" wrong! :) I love your skirt and it's great inspiration to wear more of them even in the winter...I always chicken out when the temperatures drop! :P
ReplyDeletelove your lip color :) great blog!
