So you remember my BFF Alisa
I told you about? Well, one thing I didn't tell you was that Alisa and I like to eat together. A lot.
Oh wait, I did. But not the extent of it. You see, in high school, Alisa and I were hungry little monsters. We would regularly eat the packed lunches our parents made for us, and then head down to the cafeteria to wash them down with a piece of pizza or bag of chips. What? We were growing girls. Maybe not vertically growing, but growing nonetheless. One particularly hungry afternoon, we got home from school and ordered a large pizza. And then we ate it all while watching MTV's Dismissed. Can I get a yeah yeah from someone else who watched that deliciously trashy show? Please? Anywho, knowing Alisa's mom was going to be home to feed us dinner in about an hour, and knowing she'd be livid that we already ate, we quickly got rid of the pizza box in a neighbor's trash and then returned home only to eat a second dinner about an hour later. It was an impressive feat. Alisa, I hope you mama doesn't read this blog or we'll have some splainin' to do.
You shouldn't be surprised, then, to hear that our date a few weekends ago started out with some brunch. After our bellies were nice and full, we headed over the the San Francisco
ThreadShow, which is a showcase of emerging local designers and artists. It was the funnest, girliest day we've had in a while. And productive too-- I managed to add a few pieces to my pathetically small jewelry collection.

You look so chic and stylish! Love the stripes under the jacket...and the booties...and...and...and...your header ROCKS! Did you sketch it? It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat earrings! The blazer over the striped sweater is pretty great too. You and I would be great real life friends because I love to eat too, lol! I had 3 pieces of pie yesterday at my office! Heather
ReplyDeleteI could never eat two meals one after the other and my mom would always figure out that I had eaten out :P
ReplyDeleteLove the striped sweater - it is such a great colour :)
Haha, that is awesome! I would do the same thing as a kid - I ate SO much and my mom would get pissed off so I'd have to hide wrappers in weird places.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute and this sounds like such a fun day!
LOVING the striped cardi
ReplyDeleteLOVE those boots and the colors in your outfit! My BFF & I once ate an entire box of dunkin donuts. Not the munchkins...

ReplyDeleteI'm loving your layered blazer/sweater look! I love to eat, too - it's definitely something I've had to control since turning 30 :)
ReplyDeleteyou make casual look so glam! :) I really love those wedges, and the print/pattern on the fabric of that jacket!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! Yeah, I never really had a fast metabolism, but it's way slowed down recently. I'm trying to behave a little better nowadays :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks so much Laura!!
ReplyDeleteHa, I've never been a big eater... HALF a pizza that's crazy talk girl. I was like a hummingbird at that age and got 90% of my calories from sugar.
ReplyDeleteThis scarf is gorgeous, love it with the blazer.
Oh girl, I'm loving this outfit! First, that blazer is fab paired with the striped vest and scarf! Second, LOVE those earrings you got at the Threadshow! I love going to those types of shows. Hope you got lots of fun jewelry! :)

OMG! Dismissed was hilarious. Loved it. And Daria. My dark, twisty young soul identified with her cynicism.
ReplyDeleteAs always, you look sooooo cute!
i love the layering and colors in this outfit.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that striped cardi!

Love the striped sweater with the pin-striped blazer. And the coral with navy is oh so chic. Those earrings are really fancy. Love them.
ReplyDeleteOh Skippy I love your whole outfit today. The blazer and stripes go so well together and I love the way you tied your scarf. So sassy!!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I love that shade of lipstick/lipgloss! What shade is it? (:
ReplyDeletewww.victorycarmichael.blogspot.com
Aww, I love the combination of greys in this outfit, that cardigan is too cute and I love with the blazer and scarf. Great pick of earrings at the show, and lipstick color too. I think you need to do a tutorial for your hair and how it always looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren! I definitely will :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I loved Daria too. But that was legitimately good. Dismissed was jsut good crap. And it makes me so happy you liked it :)
ReplyDeleteWell thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hannah!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are pretty comfy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sayaka!!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks so much Tracy! Fancy, huh? I like the sound of that :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's actually the elf brand lipgloss from, oh I don't know, at least 5 years ago. And I just looked on the tube and there's no name on it :( Either it never had one, or it wore off over the years. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks so much Cara! I literally don't know the first thing about styling hair. I either wear it all down (and do nothing) or put it up in a messy-ish bun like above :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you mixed a structured blazer with a casual outfit, looks really chic. The striped top has a great color. I like the matching scarf and boots. You look fabulous! Your story about being growing girls makes me smile. Being able to eat heartily and still keep a slim figure is every girl's dream!

Thanks so much Mongs! Rest assured I do not eat quite that heartily nowadays :)
ReplyDeleteGreat booties! Like the pleating and it looks like they have two zippers. :)
ReplyDeleteI think this is such a masterful mixing of patterns and lovely details. And that blazer -- what an excellent eBay find. :)
that sounds like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteI love those booties, the way the suede is layered with the zippers makes them so unique!
Thanks so much Carrie! And yes, there are 2 zippers- one on the side and one on the back :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks so much Lydia! It was definitely a fun day :)
ReplyDeleteInna, I am so incredibly jealous of the CA weather! Coats are now required and Alisa sounds fabulous! I am so glad to read these stories about you and her, and hungry little monsters? Honey....where on earth do you put it all???
ReplyDeleteIt's actually getting pretty cold here, at least for CA. A blazer over a cardigan is some pretty serious layering :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I definitely eat less now than I did back then...I'm still a pretty big eater though! I'll tell you wear I put it- in my highs and big badunkadunk. Oh yes girl, I do. Working out about 5 times a week helps a little though :)
oh wow, i haven't thought about "dismissed" for literally YEARS.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! Love your shoes!
ReplyDeleteLol, me too, until I remembered that fateful afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
ReplyDeleteYou two are like peas in a pod! Glad you had a great time and you look amazing! I'm loving the poses and the business men walking by. :D
