A couple of weeks ago I was bumming around online and stumbled upon an online personality test. Turns out I'm neurotic and "highly dependent." Um, yes.. Tell me something I didn't know.
Although I love travelling, I really miss my peeps at home while I'm gone. You know, probably because I'm "highly dependent" and all. This trip to Austin was the first time I've been away from Ryan for that long in years, and I really missed the daily squeezes he gives me. Though I do have to say, my friend's "big spoon" during our cuddle time was really comforting. Watch out Ryan, you've got some competition.
Ryan loves seeing me dress up (and I love him for that), but apparently sometimes my fashion choices are a little too out there for his liking. Oh, and too "Anthropologie-y." It's ok, he's just a boy and doesn't know any better. But since I'm still feeling lovey dovey after being away from him for nearly a week, I decided to put together an outfit I thought he would like. A tight little skirt should do the trick, right?
Shop:
- Anthropologie skirt (bought on sale, no longer available. Buy similar on sale here or here)
- Anthropologie top (bought on sale, no longer available)
- Zara belt (buy here)
- Anthropologie shoes (bought on sale, no longer available)
- Earrings borrowed from my mother-in-law
amazing skirt! :) love it!

I love dressing up for my hubby sometimes! Love your skirt and that cute bow belt :) Heather
ReplyDeleteHot! Love the blue.

You look SO cute... one of my favorite outfits from you! That little belt is darling. Love this photo location too! :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit! I love the bright blue "tight" skirt hahaha. It's so funny because AP sometimes looks at my outfit and he's like ummm....I'm not sure about that. I just tell him it's awesome. But sometimes I throw him a bone and wear a t-shirt and jeans.

Beautiful color combination! The belt is too cute - I love dressing up :)
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteAw, you're so sweet- thank you so much!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Hannah! He was pleased :) I wavered on buying that skirt b/c it was so long, but after Anthro gave it a second cut to $30 I bought it and got it tailored and now I love it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I do too :) Not all the time, but sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Megan! I wavered on buying the belt since it wasn't on sale (and I pretty much only ever buy things on sale or thrifted) but it was too darn cute to pass up, and I'm glad I didn't because I get so much use out of it :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Lol @ AP (and Ryan and boys in general) not understanding how fabulous we look :) Sometimes it's nice to throw them a bone though :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! Me too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThat tight skirt should have done the alright ;-) You look great. That shirt is cute and flatters your skin tone. I think it's sweet you dressed up for your man. Though it may sound like we are still in the 50's I think every woman should dress up once in a while just to please her man and vice versa!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Bre
LMAO! I know precisely what you mean. Mr. CP and I have spent lengthy periods of time apart when he's away on research trips, and whenever he gets home I'm like, "Let us bond! Aren't these 50 new items of clothing I bought to cope with your general away-ness beeeeautiful?" On several occasions, he's told me that they're too, "Anthropologie-y" for his tastes. I typically respond by shrieking, "Fascist!"... or occasionally, "Communist!" It just depends on my mood, really.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I almost fell over when I found out Anthro is going to be participating in Black Friday. FTW (but not so much or my bank account).
Wow, I'm sure he'll love this skirt! :) The top is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteMy Boyfriend likes the most if I wear white - I've been hinting at wedding dresses being white and all for a while. :D
Thanks Bre!! I actually totally agree :) And he really appreciates it, which makes it that much nicer :)
ReplyDeleteLOL- I'm going to go with fascist for Ryan (he's half German half Norwegian, and i'm the russian one, so it only seems to make sense :)) I'll try it out next time and let you know how it goes over :)
ReplyDeleteAND I KNOW! I will be there at 6 am when those doors open. I wish we lived closer so we could do Anthro Black Friday together :( That would be so much fun!
That would be amaaazing! If you ever find yourself in Seattle, we'll just pretend it's Black Friday and stage an invasion of the downtown Anthro. They won't know what hit 'em.
ReplyDeleteThanks! And LOL! Hopefully he'll get the hint soon :)
ReplyDeleteAnd demand an extra 50% off? Yes please. I have a friend that recently moved to Seattle who I hope to visit, so this ream might become a reality :) And if you're ever in San Francisco, I best know about it :)
ReplyDeleteoh men, so easy to delight. hahaha. My husband is totally the same, though-- when I dress up for the blog he'll say I'm cute or compare me to an animal. Then when I dress up in something tight and revealing, he'd go gaga over it. tsk tsk. I oh so love this skirt though! the color is super fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteHehe, your husband sounds like a great guy :) Thanks so much- I absolutely love this skirt too :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Wanted to stop by & say thanks for your comment on my EBEW post. So sweet of you to stop by. I just looove this skirt! Sorta reminds me of my tights! Hehee..I have to admit, I'm pretty jealous you live in the Bay Area (where are you exactly?). I grew up in San Diego but went to college in Monterey & have some family in Half Moon Bay & San Jose (weird how those all end with an "ay" sound). I just looove the city & the whole Bay Area! :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jen! I live in San Francisco, but I actually went to UCSD from one year before transferring out so I've lived in the San Diego area too :) I love it up here, and am glad to hear you feel the same :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that skirt. It fits you perfectly. Thanks for the close up, because the texture of the skirt is really wonderful. Oh, and the color. I think I might be coveting your skirt. Sorry. But we live so close, can't we just borrow each other's clothes? Hmm?
ReplyDeleteSo, I've missed like a trillion of your posts. Sorry for being a crappy blogfriend. To recap, I loved each and every look. So happy you had fun in my favorite town in Texas. And that whole foods looked amazing. The ice cream looked yummy too.
I will be less neglectful now. To make sure of it, I'm putting your blog in my sidebar! I hope that's ok.
xo,
Tracy
Um... pretty sure he's gonna like this outfit!! You look great!! And that pencil skirt ... wowza!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend! :)
Cute. Cute. Cute.
ReplyDeleteLovely skirt.
http://theleatherskirt.blogspot.com/
Thanks Tracy!! We can absolutely borrow each other's clothes! In fact, I'll be in Oakland tomorrow, and definitely get over to the East Bay often enough to arrange a swap :)
ReplyDeleteDon't apologize at all! Sometimes "real life" is more important than blogging life! Thank you for your sweet words :) The whole foods and ice cream were definitely both amazing :)
And of course that's ok- it's more than ok- I'm super flattered. Thank you!!
xoxo
Lol, thanks Samantha :) I think he was a fan :) Although he did make fun of me for my outfit being pretty much all Anthropologie pieces anyway :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!

ReplyDeleteI've been seeing blue skirts everywhere this season; am I missing on a trend here? I love how you paired it with a floral blouse - way to liven it up! Is it still summer in November for you?
ReplyDeleteThank you! If it's a trend, I didn't know about it...I just thought it was a gorgeous color :) And it's actually still fairly warm- we had a few cold (read: 60 degrees) says but ot many- mostly mid 60s, so I was totally comfortable in this
