Skippy Says: Fall Back (OOTD)

I don't know about you guys, but this time change is really messing with my head. You'd think after 25 years of life I'd be used to it, but not so much. I associate darkness with sleepytime, which is kind of a problem when it gets dark by 5:00 pm. I can't have sleepytime at 5:00 pm, especially when I can't say no to doing things. That would make for a very unproductive Skippy. But not indulging in my desire for sleepytime makes for a very cranky Skippy. And a cranky Skippy makes the life of those around her, um, unpleasant. Let's just say I'm only smiling in these photos because it's still light out.

  1. This was my first time experiencing daylight savings and it really freaked me out! We used to have light here even till 8 or 9pm and now, at 5pm, it is DARK!

Love your skirt - it is so unique! :)

  5. I totally feel you on this one, girl. I've been going to bed early; although, I've also been waking up wicked early, so I suppose it evens out. Love that scarf and skirt! Adorable as usual :)

  6. Cute! Love the skirt and tights. I'm the same way, I get tired when it's dark out... and then if we try to watch a movie, I'm out cold in about 20 minutes.

  7. I love this look so much! I saw in a White House/Black Market ad a white skirt paired with all black and thought it looked so classy. The scarf is such a fun addition too :) The time change has messed me up too. I have noticed I am much more cranky, lol! Heather

  9. I agree - light is better than dark. I hate leaving work in the pitch black night :( Cute outfit - I love the tights!

  10. Last year, I bought a lightbox and it has helped me tremendously and cured my Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'm a really happy-go-lucky person, but used to turn into a sourpuss from October through April. Now, I sit in front of a light for 20 minutes a day and I swear it helps me cope with all the darkness! I can recommend the brand I bought if anyone is interested...and no I don't work for them ;)

  11. Gah! I know exactly how you feel. I have no idea why, but this time change has been much more difficult for me to adjust to than any I can remember. I have to force myself to stay awake past 7:00 pm. It's embarrassing. I'm aged.

  12. If you can still smile, it's all good! I just get tired so easily these days (oh to be 25!) I love that skirt!

  16. Thanks Megan! I've totally given up on movies at night- I'm hopeless :)

  17. Thanks Heather! It's weird- it's not like me at all to reach for white and black and gray (you know I love olor) but for some reason this outfit really appealed to me. At least I got some color in with the scarf :)

  18. Thanks Kim! Isn't that the worst? Leaving work when it's dark out is one of my least favorite aspects of daylight savings

  19. I'm pretty embarrassed with myself too. If only I could last til 7 pm...I start getting cranky around 5:30 :)

And I'm with you: it's dark by the time I get home from work and it's super depressing. Not to mention, difficult to get nice outfit shots :)
