I bought a hat. A lovely green hat. Only problem is, Ryan says it makes me look a lot younger than I already do, and since he doesn't like feeling like a pedophile he's urging me to return it. I'm torn-- on one hand, I think it's adorable; on the other, when I wear it I make my husband feel like a pedophile. You see my dilemma. Thoughts? To keep or not to keep?

Skippy Says: Green Hat (Help A Skippy Out)
We're all friends here, right? I'll take that silence as affirmation. So, friends, I need a truly honest opinion from you. Kapish?

HAHAHAHA! hilarious. I LOVE the hat.. This is what I always ask myself, how many times will i wear it, if I can't answer myself then i won't buy it.
ReplyDeleteSummer-Raye
ps- looks great on ya though.

It's cute and it looks nice with your hair :D why not wear it when Ryan isn't around? I do that when my husband dislikes anything I've bought!
ReplyDeleteI don't like the hat at all. You asked.
ReplyDeletehttp://theleatherskirt.blogspot.com/
It looks great with your hair. I don't think it makes you look too young at all. But...if it makes you AND your hubby uncomfortable, then maybe you should return it. Or just wear it when he's not with you! Heather
ReplyDeleteI like the hat and it is a nice color. I do have to say though if my husband really dislikes something I don't like it as much anymore. Ahh husbands!

I like the hat and the color on you! I have to agree though..it does make you look young! If your hubby isn't a fan, I would return it and buy something else. My ex hated red lipstick on me and I haven't worn it since. Not sure why, but we should trust our man's (ex-man's) opinions. :)
ReplyDeleteK. So, I'm a hat person. And as a qualified hat person, that cloche is 1) a gorgeous green 2) very flattering on your skintone 3) so unique and 4) you already wore it.... You should tell your honey that it's not going back!
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, if you feel uncomfortable wearing it around him (and you actually like hanging with your man), then you may not wear it often. And that would be a shame, so it may need to go back (as sad as I am to write it). But you never know, he may change his mind. My hubby didn't like red lipstick on me, so I didn't wear it for years. I busted out a new red lipstick and somehow he loves it now! Men... go figure!
i really love the green hat and it's perfect with your red hair!
ReplyDeletecute & little
Try to dress a hat with other clothes, to create other image. And can, it will be pleasant to the husband? The hat is magnificent! It is a pity to leave it!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sorry for my English!
I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy :)
ReplyDeleteThats a good point! I don't know if I'd wear it a lot, but I don't know if I'm just saying that because I don't really won any other hats that I could wear...
ReplyDeleteThanks Ki! That's a good compromise :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! You're definitely right. I'm not sure yet if it makes me truly uncomfortable or if it's just something a bit out of my comfort zone I could get used to and love.
ReplyDeleteI know, that's exactly how I feel! I loved it when I bought it, but now he's made me so unsure!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carmen :)
ReplyDeleteI think that's a really good point. There's plenty of things I love that he loves too, so it's not like it's hard to find something to agree on :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Samanatha!! I think that's what it may come down to- if he doesn't like it I won't want to wear it around him, and I like to hang out with him pretty often :) I'll see if I can just wear it around the house to see if he gets used to it, and if he doesn't I might just return it :(
ReplyDeletep.s.- I haven't worn it out yet (tag is still on)- I just put it on for the pictures- otherwise I would not be returning it :)
That's what i thought too- thanks Kileen!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much- that's a great idea! I'll try it with some other outfit to see if he likes it better :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather!!
ReplyDeleteI did, and I totally appreciate the honest opinion- thank you!
ReplyDeleteehehe, great hat!!! he is just jealous that you look younger than him, so maybe you should get him a hat too so he can look young as well- problem solved :D
ReplyDeleteCheck out our blog if you have a minute, Kisses P&C xxx

Keepkeepkeep!!! And I say next time you go out with him, take it with you, throw it on as a surprise and call him "daddy" in front of a bunch of strangers...lol...I'm all for going to extremes, especially when it involves playing a joke on the hubs ;)

Lol! Sorry I meant you "already wore it" as a fake excuse that you can't return it! I figured it was still returnable! :0)
ReplyDeleteKeep it, it's a gorgeous colour and it really suits you :).

Tell your husband that being a pedophile is a privilege. Keep the hat- its lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe color goes great with your hair and skin tone!! Show Ryan all the girls opinions and he'll just have to change his mind :-)
ReplyDeletelove it ! it fits you perfectly !
ReplyDeleteVeronica
This hat is fabulous for you! Love it! :D
ReplyDeletex Jonas

ReplyDeletexo Julia @ misssouthernpreppy.blogspot.com
p.s. I'm your newest foloower! I just love your blog! Follow back if you like!
I actually think it's a rather mature looking hat, and I think it looks great on you!
ReplyDeletewww.chillairandperfume.blogspot.com
I'm so inlove with your hat!
ReplyDeleteSeems like I've been seeing lots of green from many bloggers.
P.S. Thanks for your lovely comment!
Thanks for following. FYI. I'm already following you.
See you around.
Lol- sorry! This is the problem with writing and not talking! I couldn't tell and wanted to clarify just in case :)
ReplyDeleteThanks- so glad you like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hannah!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Julia!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!!
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks Sayaka! Maybe...but once he sets his mind on something it's hard to change it :)
ReplyDeleteLol- thanks Anna!!
ReplyDeleteLOL- love it! I am definitely doing that :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I wish :)
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks Laura!!
ReplyDeleteLol, good plan! Thank you! I'll definitely check it out :)
ReplyDeleteAw, well thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteKeep it keep it! I love hats! I say just wear it with something more mature, like a blazer?! Maybe that will solve the problem! :)
ReplyDelete-j
sorelle in style
That's a really good idea! I'm new to hats and clearly have no clue :)
ReplyDeleteIt's an absolute keeper. So freakn' cute on you. I think it makes you look stylish and sophisticated. I don't see the added youngness factor at all. It's a great color for you. It's perfectly shaped for your head. I seriously love it on you.
ReplyDeleteI think you look great in it! I'd totally keep it. My ex-boyfriend was short so I always had to wear flats or tiny, TINY heels around him. But that didn't mean I stopped wearing my 5+ inch heels when I wasn't out and about with him! If he's not comfortable with it, don't wear it around him. BUT I think you should keep it and rock it when you want to. :)
ReplyDeletei like it! but then again, i'm mistaken for a twelve-year-old pretty often! :)
ReplyDeletedash dot dotty
Hmm...I think it's adorable and am actively trying to look younger so I'd keep it just for that reason - ha! But I think if you wore it with dressier clothes it wouldn't look so young...
ReplyDeleteReally? Thank you so much!! I was leaning towards returning it but you really just changed my mind (at least for now, I'm fickle :))
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Ashley! I think that's a great idea! I'm with him ton, but I do just go out and about by myself or with my girlfriends too so I can just wear it then :)
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks!! Glad to know I'm not alone :)
ReplyDeleteI have the opposite problem...I'm 25 but look 14 so I could use aging a few years:) But I think wearing it with dressier/ more sophisticated clothes is a great idea- thanks Katherine!!
ReplyDeleteSkippy I love that hat!!! It's a keeper! If this becomes too much of a hassle, I'll happily email you my address and gladly take it off your hands. HAHAHAHAHAHA Have a great evening girl!
ReplyDeletehttp://sassyuptownchic.blogspot.com/
Lol, thanks Kim!!
ReplyDeletei like it lady :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
ReplyDeleteSkippy, this hat looks awesome on you and I don't think you should return it! It's gorgeous up against your red hair.
ReplyDeleteI think if you go with the red lippies like you have in this picture (in addition to whatever else you may be wearing on the bottom) you're not going to look childlike. AND here's my question: this is a hat in the 1920s cloche style that adult women, especially flappers, who were the "wild women" of thier day, wore - err - why does Ryan associate that w/ children?!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bessie! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's the type of hat that he thinks is childish, but rather it's look on me. I have a pretty young looking face (I'm 25 but often get mistaken for 16) and I think he thinks it looks like I'm playing dress-up in it. Which I can kind of see...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - I laughed so hard when I read this post. Maybe it's the word pedophile? Although that really isn't a funny word...but then again it kinda is in this context. Anyhoo!!)
ReplyDeleteThe hat is gorgeous! Love the color, the bow, everything. Keep it and maybe wear it for walking around town, meeting up with girlfriends, or even just sitting at your computer blogging! :-) If none of those works, you can do a giveaway for it on your blog. haha!
XO - Marion
Thanks Marion! If I decide not to keep it a giveaway is a great idea :)
ReplyDeleteLove the green hat on you!
ReplyDeleteVery cute hat, sunglasses, and top! I don't think I could pull this look off! But you look great!- Jessica
