Today, I start my first day nannying. For a three week old baby. You guys, she is so so tiny that I'm absolutely terrified of breaking her. During my interview when her parents asked how I planned to spend my day with her I truthfully answered "trying to keep her alive." I think they appreciated the honesty. Also, I basically made out with their dog and pointed them in the direction of the best sushi restaurant in the Bay Area so I think that also got me some brownie points. Mmmmm brownies.
And don't you worry, this is not the outfit I'm wearing for my first day only to get pooped on. I'm thinking something a little more casual and a lot more brown.

Yeah, a white skirt for babysitting? I would totally advise against that! :D glad you're thinking of brown!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is great though and your mom in law has great taste - love that blouse! :)
3 weeks old? Wow I can just imagine how tiny she would be, and probably so adorable.
ReplyDeleteYour top and bag are gorgeous. They look lovely with your outfit!
xx
This will be good practice for when you have babies! I bet she is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteLove your floral top. It is really pretty. Heather
I told you, you are funny! I love your blouse. Have a great first day. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo
ReplyDeletewhat a great outfit! i love the white skirt (although it's probably dangerous while nannying for a 3-week old!) and it's so pretty with the floral top and offset with your red hair. love your Kate Spade purse too!
ReplyDeletecute & little
love this simple/vintage outfit.. the skirt looks so chic! i'm scared of carrying babies too haha

ReplyDeleteThank you, she does indeed :)
ReplyDeleteThanks NaNa! She really is super tiny and very adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the practice :) And she is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteHaha, thank you so much!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kileen!! I was thinking about wearing a white skirt for a second, and then though it probably wasn't such a good idea :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm usually good with babies, but I've never cared for one as young as 3 weeks! Eeeek!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks! I keep telling my husband the same thing and he doesn't believe me :)
ReplyDeletelove your answer! that is totally my thought when it comes to newborns as well. i absolutely refuse to hold babies until they can hold their own heads up. it just freaks me out that i'm going to break them!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your first day! Don't be nervous. Babies aren't as delicate and they seem. When my god son was an infant I used to take 30 min just to change his diaper. I was petrified of being too rough. That fear goes away after a few times.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love that pocket book. The color suits you really well.

Nice outfit, I love how the bag puts a pop of color. I've been a nanny for some time too, but I'd be afraid of look after a little baby too. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll do great ;)
ReplyDeleteI nanny'd for 2 children ( one of which was 1 month old) a few years ago, and it was my favorite job! Tiring, but so rewarding! The good news is, you almost can't hurt them :) They are little people and it take a lot to hurt a person!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! You totally crack me up! I'd love to see the outfit you wear to nannying...
ReplyDeleteI have a 2 year old girl in the East Bay - lemme know if you have extra time to watch her! ;)
Good luck with the 3 week old - that's crazy! She'll think you're her mama for sure! :)
Dirty Pink Cardigan
:D
hooray for the nannying and hooray for keeping things alive. I wouldn't be so confident with my skillz. hahaha. Good thinking on the brown, too! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! That top is adorable!
Good look with your first day at work! Aren't babies that young SOOO tiny? It kind of scares me, but you won't break the baby. I promise!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!! & Kudos to you for nannying --would totally horrify me! lol

3 WEEKS?! I don't know why but the first time I read this I thought you said three months, and I thought that was newborn enough. Wow! So tiny. I think the youngest baby I've ever cared for (longer than like, an hour) was nine months. Good luck future mama ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the first day...I love your outfit but I guess it's a good thing you are changing. I would be so scared to wear white around a baby all day...but then again I don't need a baby to get my whites dirty...lol :) Thanks for stopping by my blog, yours is lovely. I'm following. Hope you can stop by again soon.
