Skippy Says: Everything Still Remains The Same (OOTD)

How about I just keep revealing really embarrassing things about myself? Sound good?

When I was little, though older than I'd care to admit publicly so I'll keep it vague (sound familiar?), I used to be a tad obsessed with The Babysitter's Club series. And the Backstreet Boys, but that's a whole different can of worms. The only thing I'm going to say about that is that they were way better than N Sync. Period. Don't you argue with me.

Back in my Babysitter's Club and Backstreet Boys lovin' days (ok, fine, there is still a special place in my heart for the Backstreet Boys) I used to totally rock a jean jacket like this one. And because I'd like to disassociate my style now from my style back then as much as possible, I haven't worn a jean jacket in many years. But after seeing so many bloggers rocking them lately, I couldn't help hankering for one myself. And unlike leopard print and faux fur, this is so totally me. I guess my style hasn't changed as much as I'd like to think.

  9. Oh em gee. the BSB! both babysitters club and backstreet boys! i loved them both. I always wanted to be Claudia because she's Asian and was super fashionable. Also because she had a lot of candy and junk stashed everywhere in her room! Unlike you, the denim jacket is just not something I think I can pull off anymore! I actually had to give away my glitter denim (vestige of youth) jacket last week because I couldn't pair it with anything!

  10. WOW memories!!! Hahaha, I used to LOVE the backstreet boys! Ahh weren't the 90's the best?!
Anyway...as always, you look fabulous, Skippy! :)) I love the denim jacket. I especially love how you paired it with skirt and boots...one of my favorite looks. Making everything old, new again!
    Happy Monday,

  11. Maybe I shouldn't be revealing this either...but when I was little, I used to play 'imaginary house' with my friend Sara, and Nick from BSB would always be my husband and she's pick AJ.
Haha, oh the 90's were such fun times!

Love this look, and yesterdays layering was great as well!

  16. LOL! I remember the days of Backstreet Boys. You've got to admit - their songs are rather catchy :P I've stuffed my denim jacket right to the back of the drawers. Since you've managed to rock it, I should dust it off and give it another go.

  28. OH did I love the babysitter's club! My favorite character was Claudia...do you think I am a modern day Claudia? The only difference between her and I was that she is Japanese and was bad at math. I am Chinese and can do math :) but we loved fashion! As for the bsb...seriously Inna??? Ugh you may be losing a fan...JK! I actually was a huge fan of 98 degrees! Nick Lachey...ooooo I still can't believe Vanessa got him before I did! He is missing out! You rock that jean jacket missy, I have two actually and one is from the undergrad days...probably around the time u were a fan of BSB, I am 30 btw ;)

You look beautiful! I really love this outfit! I'm a huge fan of Jean Jackets though. I have to tell myself to wear other things. I think it's my first go to every time I go to leave the house.

I was a huuuuuuge BSB fan... You're not alone!

I started reading it in 2nd grade and didn't quit until highschool haha. I have been hesitant about jean jackets too because of wearing them back then as well, but I like you have a desire for one now.

  62. I was inseparable from my jean jacket from age about 11 to 15. I should so get one now.

BSC books were my addiction. I still have them all in a box at my mom's house. Never could manage to let go of them! I stopped reading around #100 though. Stacey was my favorite because she was from glamorous NYC and I was stuck in, what then seemed to me, utterly unglamorous Mississippi!

  63. You should definitely get one! Glad to have another BSC fan in the house :)
