Skippy Says: Reach For The Stars (OOTD)

Today, I start my first day nannying. For a three week old baby. You guys, she is so so tiny that I'm absolutely terrified of breaking her. During my interview when her parents asked how I planned to spend my day with her I truthfully answered "trying to keep her alive." I think they appreciated the honesty. Also, I basically made out with their dog and pointed them in the direction of the best sushi restaurant in the Bay Area so I think that also got me some brownie points. Mmmmm brownies.

And don't you worry, this is not the outfit I'm wearing for my first day only to get pooped on. I'm thinking something a little more casual and a lot more brown.

  1. Yeah, a white skirt for babysitting? I would totally advise against that! :D glad you're thinking of brown!

This outfit is great though and your mom in law has great taste - love that blouse! :)

  5. what a great outfit! i love the white skirt (although it's probably dangerous while nannying for a 3-week old!) and it's so pretty with the floral top and offset with your red hair. love your Kate Spade purse too!

  12. Thanks! I'm usually good with babies, but I've never cared for one as young as 3 weeks! Eeeek!

  13. Hehe, thanks! I keep telling my husband the same thing and he doesn't believe me :)

  14. love your answer! that is totally my thought when it comes to newborns as well. i absolutely refuse to hold babies until they can hold their own heads up. it just freaks me out that i'm going to break them!

  15. Good luck on your first day! Don't be nervous. Babies aren't as delicate and they seem. When my god son was an infant I used to take 30 min just to change his diaper. I was petrified of being too rough. That fear goes away after a few times.

P.S. I love that pocket book. The color suits you really well.

  16. Nice outfit, I love how the bag puts a pop of color. I've been a nanny for some time too, but I'd be afraid of look after a little baby too. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll do great ;)

  17. I nanny'd for 2 children ( one of which was 1 month old) a few years ago, and it was my favorite job! Tiring, but so rewarding! The good news is, you almost can't hurt them :) They are little people and it take a lot to hurt a person!

  18. Hahahaha! You totally crack me up! I'd love to see the outfit you wear to nannying...

I have a 2 year old girl in the East Bay - lemme know if you have extra time to watch her! ;)

Good luck with the 3 week old - that's crazy! She'll think you're her mama for sure! :)

  27. 3 WEEKS?! I don't know why but the first time I read this I thought you said three months, and I thought that was newborn enough. Wow! So tiny. I think the youngest baby I've ever cared for (longer than like, an hour) was nine months. Good luck future mama ;)

  28. Good luck on the first day...I love your outfit but I guess it's a good thing you are changing. I would be so scared to wear white around a baby all day...but then again I don't need a baby to get my whites dirty...lol :) Thanks for stopping by my blog, yours is lovely. I'm following. Hope you can stop by again soon.
